“4-H has instilled in me core values of responsibility and diligence. Beyond the fairgrounds, I love hunting with my dad and cherishing moments with family and friends.” Raising a steer you have to be rooted in grit, connection, and care. There is something incredibly grounded about people who devote themselves to the land and to animals with that kind of integrity. I’m not just raising livestock, but cultivating something meaningful for other families. It is the kind of work where the results don’t just show up in numbers——they show up in the health of my animal, the taste of the meat, and the satisfaction knowing you’ve done right by both the animal and the people they’ll feed.

“Being part of 4-H has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It’s helped me grow not just as a student, but as a friend, a leader, and a caretaker. Whether I’m working with my lamb or riding horses, I’ve learned the importance of patience, responsibility, and compassion. I stay active through dance and cherish the friendships I’ve made through 4-H and beyond. Most of all, I want to be a role model for younger kids—someone who inspires them to follow their passions, make a difference, and give back to their community. I hope to raise high-quality animals that can help feed families and support the values of hard work and kindness that 4-H has taught me.”
